The Secret of the Church and Marriage
Do you know that the Scriptures tell us exactly how a marriage and family should be? Do you also know that the Church is the example of a marriage?
Read the verses below, even the ones that may shock you, and you may even hate to see what these verses say. See the role of how husbands and wives, in the family, are to play, and how the role of men and women in the Church give an example of why that should be. Read these verses several times and pray for God to give you understanding of them.
At the bottom, you will find a couple more supporting verses to the ones you will now read…
From Ephesians___
Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.
Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church:
Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Jesus is the husband and the church is the wife, and for this reason, we have a perfect example of how a marriage is to be according to God. Marriage is to be between one man and one woman, with the husband being the head of the family.
As for the order of Church hierarchy, the Scripturesgives us the example of how that is to be, not just in the Church but in the marriage as well.

From 1 Corinthians___
1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church
From 1 Timothy___
1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Ti 2:10 But (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Ti 2:12 But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to have authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Many people try to explain these verses away just so they can have their own will accomplished instead of God’s will. Most of these are born again believers who have never read the Scriptures for themselves or havenot been taught the truth that is found in them; as we have just read. There are also quite a few CINO’s – Christian In Name Only members in the Church who have become conformed to the world and not to Christianity and who try to push their worldly views on the true disciples of Jesus.
You have been given the secret of the Church and Marriage. You have seen and read the Scriptures. You now know the truth. May God open your understanding so that you may see the truth in God’s Word, and come to a knowledge of God’s ordained purpose for the Church and Marriage.
May God open the hearts of every one who reads these Scriptures.
In Praise Of A Wife
On the 3rd of January in 1969 I met Mary for the first time. Sixty five days later we were married. It has been forty-six years now since that day took place and it was the best decision I ever made.
As God has stated and as Jesus has confirmed, marriage was ordained by God to be between one man and one woman.
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
God speaks in praise of a wife as we read in the following verses from Proverbs 31 and Proverbs 5.
Proverbs 31
10 Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
27 She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 5
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with the wife of your youth.
19 And always be enraptured with her love.
My wife can definitely meet these statements, and more. I am more in love with my Mary now than at any time from when we first met back in 69. We have had our ups and downs, have been in sickness and mostly in good health, and we have even experienced poverty and in being in a state of not wanting or lacking anything that we needed. Even the desires of our hearts have been met as God has seen desirable to fulfill them.
When we put ourselves in the hands of God, and do as He says regarding life, much can be said of His blessing on the people who are willing to be obedient to His ways. God has given us His guidelines for what a marriage should be and anything outside of those limits He will not bless. For how can God go against His own laws of living life as He wills. To do so is to make a mockery of His knowledge and wisdom. Can man be more wise than God? Then why are we willing to seek what we want and not what He says is the right thing to do.
God put Mary and I together those many years ago and He has kept us together all along the way. We have been blessed by Him, guided by Him and loved by Him. What God has joined together, as He has with us, let not man separate.
I am still in love with the wife of my youth and I am still enraptured with her love. Her beauty is still as the first day that we met and my love for her is greater than ever. Yes, I have found a “virtuous” woman and I have been blessed with love far greater than anyone could dream. In fact, she was, and still is, the girl of my dreams.
My wife does fear the Lord, in ways that pleases God, and for that she does deserve praise. That is the reason for this post. As it is indeed written to be in praise of my wife…
